Property description
The beauty of Cape Cod Bay without having to cross the Bridge.
This is a lovely home situated in an exclusive, residential beachside community. There are wonderful views of the bay from all floors. There are large decks on 3 sides of the house. The garden has many trees, attractive landscaping and a large lawn leading to the beach access.
Inside the house is tastefully decorated. The vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans of the greatroom (which includes the kitchen, dining and living area) make for a cool and spacious summer villa. Efficient oil heating and a cozy log fire make for a very comfortable winter escape.
The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, range, microwave, dishwasher, double sink, fridge, freezer, toaster, coffee maker and cookware. There is also a washer and dryer.
The four large double bedrooms have the capacity to sleep 10 +. The master bedroom has its own treetop deck with magnificent views of the ocean. You can lay in bed with the french windows open and hear the waves lapping at the beach, whilst watching the boats out in the bay.
All of this is just a two minute gentle stroll from a private, sandy beach. The access to the beach is a unique benefit here as there is only a short and very gradual incline to the beach. It offers perhaps the best access in the Bay and is ideal for children or less able members of the party. It is possible to walk all the way (4 miles) to the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal without leaving the beach. Or if you prefer you can swim, wade, fish or beachcomb for starfish and sand dollars.
The local village of Cedarville has all the amenities you could need with 2 banks, a florist, cafes and restaurants, 2 hairdressers, a supermarket a CVS and 2 gas stations. There is also a new gym and a major golf course less than a mile from the house. (In fact there are 6 golf courses within a 10 minute drive)
The local area is drenched in history being the the home of the Pilgrims. Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower and the Plymouth Plantation are just 15 minutes drive away to the North. To the South is the Cape Cod Canal with its 8 mile bike or walk trail and fascinating flow of floating traffic ranging from exquisite yachts to tankers bound for New York.
Sandwich is the closest town on the Cape and provides a wealth of antique stores as well as a glass museum and the Heritage Plantation.
City life and all it offers are available in Boston or Providence. Both are a 1 hour drive from the house. New Bedford and it's whaling museum and the grand mansions of Newport both offer great day trips.
Outlet shopping, a water slide park and chartered fishing trips provide even more ways of having fun. Again all are within a 10 minute drive of the house.
This home provides a unique holiday opportunity for all seasons in a comfortable, spacious and truly lovely setting.
